I’ve got more energy now. I’m looking forward to the games, and I get excited again.
Before, it was like you play every three days. There’s no excitement because you’re doing it over and over and over, and you don’t enjoy the game anymore.
“So, yeah, it’s done me wonders. It’s given me time to relax, to miss the game, just get that spark back because, if you could see, there were some goals that I conceded that normally you don’t expect Ronwen to concede those goals.

Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Ronwen Williams has explained why his recent injury was a blessing in disguise.
The national team captain was speaking in the Bafana’s pre-match press conference ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho. The match will take place on Friday, 21 March, at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium at 6 PM.
Williams believes the injury provided a much-needed rest after a demanding period of consecutive games at club level. He admitted his performances had declined and that he was not enjoying his football as he used to.
He believes the injury lay-off has reignited his passion for football, and he now feels refreshed and ready to perform.
