The experienced mentor who was in the hot seat at the Glamour Boys during the 2020/21 season says Mayele could score 30 goals in the PSL.

“I think Fiston Mayele could be a 30-goal striker in the PSL, he’s not involved in all the touches on the pitch, he just plays in the box,” Hunt said on Soccer Beat.
“So if you give him the service, he will score goals on his own by his movements, strength, and power. He’s very good at hitting the target; that’s why I think he’s a 30-goal striker.

“He’s 30 years of age, but there are teams in the PSL that don’t look for a long-term solution, but a short-term solution. With the goals Mayele can score, Kaizer Chiefs will win the treble [if they sign him].
Meanwhile, the Chiefs have been plagued by an underwhelming run of form, which has seen them languish in the bottom half of the Betway Premiership table with 30 points in 25 matches.

The Naturena-based side has not won a match in their last six league games, suffering three defeats against Golden Arrows, Richards Bay FC, and Marumo Gallants. They played stalemates against Cape Town City FC, TS Galaxy, and Chippa United.

However, on a brighter note, Amakhosi are in the final of the Nedbank Cup and have qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup.

Former SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt has spoken out regarding the transfer speculation surrounding Fiston Mayele and Kaizer Chiefs, stating his belief that the prolific striker could lead Amakhosi to a treble.
Mayele has previously been linked to Chiefs in the past transfer windows as the Soweto giants are fighting to return to their glory days.

Interestingly, the talented forward gained prominence under the current Chiefs coach, Nasreddine Nabi, during their time at Young Africans SC two seasons ago.
The 30-year-old was instrumental for Egyptian outfit Pyramids FC when they defeated Orlando Pirates in the semi-final of the CAF Champions League this past weekend. He scored a brace.

Having proven his goal-scoring abilities on the African continent, Mayele has been tipped by Gavin Hunt as a player who can end Chiefs’ nine-year trophy drought
