He is not the first player on loan to leave Richards Bay prematurely this season; Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Thando Buthelezi and striker Thabang Sibanyoni also departed the club last year. The 22-year-old Buthelezi had accumulated four appearances across all competitions under Brandon Truter.

He went on to join the Motsepe Foundation Championship club Venda FC on loan for the remainder of this season. Meanwhile, Sibanyoni, another Sundowns player, terminated his loan spell with Richards Bay this season towards the end of 2024.

The striker had featured in a few matches, particularly in the early part of the season, while Truter was at the helm. He made nine appearances across all competitions without finding the back of the net. After leaving the KZN side, Sibanyoni signed for another Betway Premiership outfit, Magesi FC, on loan from the Brazilians.

Richards Bay FC have cut short the loan spell of Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Sabelo Radebe prematurely, has learnt. The 25-year-old joined the Natal Rich Boyz in September last year and was initially expected to remain with them for the entire 2024/25 season.

He was sent out on loan at the same time as another Chiefs youth product, Donay Jansen, who joined SuperSport United on a loan deal that would keep him at the club until June this year. Both players have struggled for game time this season, making only three appearances each in their respective clubs.

According to the sources, Radebe is no longer part of Richards Bay FC, with the parties having parted company just before his loan contract was due to expire at the end of the season. Radebe was part of a group including Lebohang Lesako, Darrel Matsheke, and Keletso Sifama, promoted to the Chiefs senior team in 2021 under the guidance of Gavin Hunt.
