“And when you understand or when you see where you are and what you need for the future…

“For example, when you have the assimilation of the modern game and players have assimilated everything about your ideas, then it’s just about time to get where you want to be.

“Teams like Kaizer Chiefs sometimes get in tough spaces; let’s say they get ill, but they never die. It’s just a matter of time before they wake up.”

The Tunisian tactician began his tenure at the Phefeni Glamour Boys at the start of this season, following his departure from Moroccan side AS FAR Rabat.

While Nabi’s early days at the helm offered glimpses of potential, Chiefs’ season has been marked by inconsistency as the coach works to establish a winning team.

Amidst this rebuilding phase, the Nedbank Cup presents a golden opportunity for Chiefs to end their ten-year trophy drought.

Their focus now turns to Saturday’s match against Stellenbosch, where they will fight for a place in the semifinals.

“It’s not about confidence, but the process is a scientific process designed in steps,” said Nabi in the press conference that was held at Nedbank headquarters in Sandton on Thursday

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has explained why he’s confident that “it’s just a matter of time” before he brings glory days back to Naturena.

Nabi was speaking ahead of their Nedbank Cup quarterfinal clash against Stellenbosch FC, which will take place on Saturday, 8 March, at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha.

He was asked about his confidence in changing Amakhosi’s fortunes amidst the current rebuilding phase. Nabi stated that the team’s overhaul involves several stages, with player assimilation of his coaching philosophy being key.

The former Young Africans mentor believes his troops understand him better now and foresees a positive turnaround for the team in the near future.
