Young Africans’ president firmly stated that the club has no intention of selling Mzize, despite significant interest from several clubs.

“It’s not just Mzize. We’ve received offers for other players, too, but we can’t just keep selling our talent. We want to be competitive in Africa, and to do that, we need to keep our best players,”

He emphasized that there had been no negotiations whatsoever for the player’s transfer, as they had no intention of engaging with any interested clubs.

“If we wanted to sell the player, we could have negotiated with any club interested in him. We’ve never had any interest in selling the player.”

Said further emphasised the club’s commitment to Mzize by highlighting the player’s recent contract extension. “The player has signed a new deal. He has a new contract with us?”

The club has reportedly received a substantial offer of US$450,000 [R7.9 million] from an unnamed club for Mzize but reiterated that the player is integral to their plans for the upcoming season.

Said also mentioned having a direct conversation with Kaizer Motaung Jr., the Sporting Director of Chiefs, further solidifying Yanga’s position on the matter.

The 20-year-old striker, who scored an impressive 10 goals across all competitions last season, has become a highly sought-after talent, attracting attention from various clubs across Africa. The fact that Mzize previously worked with Chiefs’ newly appointed coach, Nasreddine Nabi, who is currently leading a revamp at the Soweto giants, further fuels the transfer speculation.

The Young Africans academy graduate has been part of the senior squad for the past three seasons. Continuing his development, he has already made an impact this season, scoring two goals in three appearances.

Yanga SC president Hersi Ally Said has addressed the transfer talk surrounding the club’s striker, Clement Mzize, following the emergence of ‘offers’ online, purportedly from Kaizer Chiefs and Wydad Athletic Club.

The leaked documents claimed financial offers for Mzize’s services.
