Kutumela, who played for Maritzburg United between 2019 and 2021 in KZN, is hoping to reignite his past glories in the Kingdom of the Zulu.

This publication understands that the former Baroka FC man had an offer from AmaZulu FC before he departed the Brazilians.

However, the move to Usuthu didn’t materialise, allowing Richards Bay to swoop in and secure his services as first reported by Sportswire.

Kutumela is expected to strengthen the striking department of Richards Bay with the club aiming to return stronger in the upcoming campaign after retaining its DStv Premiership status via the PSL promotional/relegation playoffs.

OTHER SIGNINGS

As previously reported, the club also completed the signings of Fezile Gcaba and Sbani Khumalo from the KZN ABC Motsepe League side Mkhumbane Classic.

They have also signed Siyethemba Sithebe, Tlakusani Mthethwa, and Keegan Allan on free transfers.

Sithebe left Kaizer Chiefs following the end of his contract after a two-year stint at the club having joined in 2022 from AmaZulu.

Meanwhile, Mthethwa’s services were available following the Moroka Swallows club’s status sale to Marumo Gallants.

And Allan also became a free agent after parting ways with SuperSport United. The club is expected to announce all new signings in the upcoming week.

Thabiso Kutumela has completed a move to Richards Bay FC on a free transfer after departing Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 31-year-old forward was among the four players who were released by Sundowns a week ago. He left the club along with Gaston Sirino, Bongani Zungu and Brian Onyango.

Kutumela’s contract expired at the end of June and Masandawana decided against offering him an extension.

Last season, he spent a loan spell at Cape Town City, recording three goals and one assist in 28 appearances across all competitions.
