Sicelo Buthelezi as Tobias “Toby” Maswahla who moves to Turfloop after being expelled from university.
Toby’s described as having a mischievous streak and was given the boot for causing serious trouble in Joziburg.
He comes to Turfloop to turn over a new leaf, joins Turfloop University and seems to be on the straight and narrow because he commits to his studies and gets a part-time job.
He tries to stay away from trouble, but will trouble stay away from him?
And what will the future of the role be?
Sicelo rose up the ranks on Mzansi Magic’s Gomora, in which he played high schooler Teddy for all four seasons.
Teddy was a complicated character who had difficulties with reading and memory because his mother drank while she was pregnant with him.
He developed from a recurring character in Season 1 to starring when Sicelo was promoted in Season 2.
In 2020 he won an Outstanding Newcomer award for his portrayal of Teddy at the 4th Royalty Soapie Awards.
