The Cape Town-based outfit has been suffering from goalkeeping issues as they’re a side with most goals conceded in this season so far.

They have let in 31 goals and sit at the bottom of the log with four points and a -20 goal difference.

Meanwhile, Sekhukhune United are also said to be lining up a move to sign Mbatha to strengthen their goalkeeping department.

The Babina Noko recently came into the picture with the club having a busy schedule due to the CAF Confederation Cup commitments.

The Limpopo outfit is in the group stages and has an opportunity to qualify for the quarter-final.

With the Nedbank Cup coming up in the second round, they might have three competitions on their calendar should they make it to the last eight.

Mbatha has previously been linked to Richards Bay FC and Maritzburg United following his exit from Arrows.

He has also played for AmaZulu FC, Thanda Royal Zulu, FC Cape Town, African Warriors and Bloemfontein Celtic.

As he continues to search for a new home, Mbatha is training with Cape Town Spurs who have been actively pursuing his signing for quite some time.

According to a source, he started training with Ernst Middendorp’s men at the beginning of this week.

While talks are continuing between the two parties, it appears there’s nothing concrete at the moment.

Former Golden Arrows goalkeeper Siyabonga Mbatha is currently training with one of the two PSL clubs that are vying for his signature.

The veteran goalie has been a free agent since August when he parted ways with Abafana Bes’thende following a four-year stay at the club. He had reportedly left to seek regular game time elsewhere.

Arrows replaced him with the Nigerian shot-stopper Olufemi Kayode. They had also signed Ismail Watenga on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns prior to Mbatha’s departure.
