Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki has said Amakhosi are trying to add more quality to their squad, when asked about the situation of Luke Fleurs.

The defender has parted ways with SuperSport as confirmed by Gavin Hunt to this publication, and was pictured training at Naturena earlier in the week.

However, there is no urgency around finalising his deal because as a free agent he can still join the club after Friday’s transfer deadline.

Ntseki wasn’t giving away much, but did praise Fleurs, whom he also worked with as coach of the South African U17 national team.

“Any quality player that is available and we can afford as a club, we will do that,” he replied when asked by iDiski Times.

“But as of now, I think we’ve got good quality players that are giving us the stability that we need.

“When you talk of Luke Fleurs, I think we all know his qualities. He has been in the U17 national team, I’ve had an opportunity to work with him when he was 16.

“Here we are coming across Luke Fleurs again in the PSL. So let’s wait and see what comes out of this.

“But at the same time we’ve got good quality players at the club and I think defensively we’ve been doing very well.

“But like I said any good quality that is available we definitely go for that player, if we can afford.”

Fleurs would become the club’s 10th new signing of this window after the latest addition of Sibongiseni Mthethwa from Stellenbosch FC.
