The series tells the story of four friends who are trying to find love and success after varsity. Their strong bond has held them together even as their journeys in life have taken them on very different paths.

According to Showmax, the filming for Adulting season two has already started.

The first season of the show set a new record for the most first-day views on Showmax of any drama series.

When season 1 of Showmax’s Adulting was airing it received mixed reviews on the socials for its raunchy sex scenes, some giving it the thumbs down while others welcomed the steamy show.

Adulting is coming back for season 2, the channel announced on Friday, confirming production has started.

Production house Tshedza Pictures also confirmed all four lead cast members were returning for season 2 – Thembinkosi Mthembu (Outlaws, Shaka iLembe and The River) as Bonga, Nhlanhla Kunene (The River, Lavish) as Eric, Thabo Rammusi (The Suit) as Mpho and Luthando BU Mthembu (Big Brother Mzansi) as Vuyani. Luthando recently won the Best Dressed On Screen Personality Award at the GQ Best Dressed 2023 Awards. Breakout star Londeka Shishi is also returning as Nkanyezi.

Tshedza Pictures owners Phathu Makwarela and Gwydion Beynon gave a little teaser on what to expect on season 2.

While details of the new season are under wraps for now, Phathu said the Showmax Original will remain “a fun show about good times and brotherhood, with lots of heart”, grounded in the migrant experience in Jozi, where, “You leave your town of origin and come to Joburg as an adult and the friends you make in that time become your family”.

Gwydion said the 18LSDVN show will keep raising eyebrows in its second season. “Our research into the stuff South African men get up to keeps shocking us.”

Season 1 of the eight-part drama followed four varsity friends, whose strong bond held them together as their journeys in life took them in different directions. As they tried to find love and success in Johannesburg after university, they turned to each other for support.
