The two stars jetted off to Las Vegas recently for French cognac powerhouse Rèmy Martin’s launch of its new global campaign, “Life is a Melody”, which the singer attended through his eight studio albums.
Moozlie took to her timeline on Tuesday to recall the moment with the caption: “That one time we met Usher in Vegas. #LifeIsAMelody especially when you #TeamUpForExcellence with Remy Martin SA. What is your life’s Melody? Mine is definitely moving with the grace of God.”
Usher is gearing towards releasing a new album.
The “Life is a Melody” campaign, which features a track from the singer’s upcoming album, is inspired by the idea that a “beautiful melody” is created through ideas and experiences.
“As an artist, I’ve always drawn creative inspiration from different facets of life that are expressed through my music,” Usher told The Spirits Business.
“I’m incredibly excited to continue my partnership with Rémy Martin, representing their exceptional Cognac expressions of 1738 Accord Royal and now, for the first time Rémy Martin XO, sharing an exclusive preview of my new music in a campaign that captures the breadth and endless possibilities of beautiful composition and marvellous melody.”
However, screenshots of the two local stars partying with Remy Martin ambassador and R&B legend Usher have drawn criticism online since they started circulating on Friday morning.
Some users on X (formerly known as Twitter) felt that Zinhle was a little too cosy with Usher and that her behaviour was inappropriate, considering that she’s married to dance music star Murdah Bongz.

@nubiansen expressed similar sentiments: “They were invited and paid but people will still find something to ridicule Zinhle whenever they have a chance. I don’t know why they hate her so much ”
Others, like @munisa_mpfula, felt that while she was working, she should’ve behaved differently. “I don’t have a problem with women working and all but Dj Zinhle is a Mother of 2 and a wife. Her behaviour around Usher and choice of clothes was embarrassing and low for someone’s makoti.”
“@mmaagwe_thipsy added, “Guys, leave DJ Zinhle & Bongani alone for goodness sake!!! Y’all are so invested in them like you’re getting paid, while they’re living their lives & making money. Y’all are toxic & bitter. Sies!”
@am_blujay, who’s typically highly critical of local celebs, came to her defence. “Dj Zinhle and Moozlie were attending an Usher and Rémy Martin collabo gig in Las Vegas, they were not just out partying (even if they were) it was work, some of you acting like they bumped or planned to meet up with Usher to drink.”
